Working Papers Information

St. Mary’s High School cannot issue employment certificates and permits (working papers) to qualified applicants.

Your child’s Home School District is responsible for issuing employment certificates and permits (working papers) to qualified applicants.

Each school district has their own procedures and designated department/person for processing employment certificates and permits (working papers). Please contact your home school district’s high school or check your home school district’s high school website to find out their process on how to obtain employment certificates and permits (working papers).

When applying for an employment certificate or permit (working paper) you must provide your home school district with:

  1. An Application for Employment Certificate with Part 1 completed.
  2. A copy of legal documentation providing your proof of age (birth certificate, passport, baptismal certificate or driver’s license/permit).
  3. A copy of your most recent physical or a physical fitness certificate, which must have been completed within a year of your working paper request.

Please keep in mind that the Health Office at St. Mary’s High School is closed during the summer months. You can email the school nurse, Mrs. Hangen (thangen@smhlancers.org) with any non-urgent matters or questions.
