Community Partners

St. Mary’s High School is the prominent Catholic co-ed preparatory school in Western New York; a beacon of faith, excellence, achievement, and inspiration for our students and families as well as other organizations throughout the community.

These types of programming and our overall environment have contributed to a growing enrollment, top five academic ranking of 131 public and private high schools in Western New York, and an increased investment among our alumni and community members. While we take pride in all of these accomplishments, we are most proud of our core mission to teach our students the values of philanthropy and giving to those in need. The goal is to teach them the value of empathy.

St. Mary’s routinely serves many organizations throughout Western New York, but we have direct partnerships with two organizations who work with disabled populations:

  1. Inclusive Theater of Western New York (ITOWNY)
    • The Inclusive Theater of WNY(ITOWNY) has found an in-house residence at St. Mary’s, holding their auditions, rehearsals and performances in our Gus Galasso Performing Arts Center. This organization was founded by Dr. Aimee Levesque in 2012 when her daughter, Jessica, who is on the autism spectrum, was dissuaded from pursuing acting at the high school level.
    • The mission of ITOWNY is to make theater available to all and bring together artists of every ability to perform.
    • The group holds at least four performances a year.
    • St. Mary’s students volunteer at the performances, fundraise for the cause at their own events, and the Performing Arts Academy will be more specifically involved in the coming year.
  2. Greater Buffalo Adaptive Sports
    • Founded in 2015 by Adam Page and his family, Greater Buffalo Adaptive Sports calls St. Mary’s High School its home. They provide adults and children with physical, developmental and intellectual disabilities the opportunity to participate in sports, make friends, and grow.
    • The group offers a variety of programs, including adaptive lacrosse, sled hockey, wheelchair basketball, football and many more.
    • Adam Page is a proud graduate of St. Mary’s High School and a three-time Gold Medal winner for the USA Paralympic Sled Hockey Team.
    • They utilize St. Mary’s for space for practices, games, meetings, and office space.
    • St. Mary’s students volunteer at various events, fundraise for the organization, and the Athletics Administration and Health and Science Professionals Academy will be integrated into their programming as well.
