ACADEMIES SPOTLIGHT: St. Mary’s alumnus and anchor at News 4 WIVB Buffalo, Chris Horvatits ’09, spoke with the Journalism and Marketing Academy about his experiences in the news industry and how he eventually found his way home to Buffalo at News 4.
Chris studied Broadcasting and Mass Communication at SUNY Oswego, and his love of sports helped him do play-by-play, color commentary, and hosting duties for the on-campus television broadcasts for the Oswego Men’s Hockey Program.
Chris began his reporting career in Watertown and then took a job as a reporter at WHEC-TV in Rochester before eventually became the noon anchor.
He has been back in the 716 for the past few years, and is so happy to be home – sharing the stories that make Buffalo the amazing city that it is.
