Over the past couple of weeks, St. Mary’s Religion Department has been collecting new or gently-used coats and boots for Summit Life Outreach Center, Inc.‘s Gift of Warmth Drive. On Thursday, volunteers from the organization – including St. Mary’s religion teacher, Mrs. Pautler’s, aunt – picked up the donations and was in awe by the generosity of St. Mary’s families. In all, over 200 coats were donated to the center to help make the winter season slightly easier for some very deserving people.
At St. Mary’s, we stress the importance of service projects just like this one to help our students experience for themselves the unmatched feeling that comes from giving to others.
